There is a deep longing within us to belong to a family who will not judge us. We desire being part of a tribe that requires no compromise. As children compromise often stems from incongruent family values or dysfunction, and continues in the rigid school structure that ignores the individuals rhythms and individual needs. As adults, compromise often stems from feeling like a slave by necessity in one's work as well as sexual repression and self-denial. Healing arises from breaking the socialized patterns and communing with those who share the values of freedom, truth, safety, and defenselessness.
