Sex is Dirty

~ Chapter 15 ~

As children, we are given the message that sex is “dirty.” This is an interesting phrase to examine. How did the phrase “dirty” become negative? Dirt is of the earth. It's a big chunk of our environment and doesn't seem to be a bad thing whatsoever. If you think of sex as dirty then you are correct. If you think dirty is bad then you are wrong. Sex is dirty in that it is of the earth, it is of the body, of the material world.

Avoiding the material world does not bring you any closer to enlightenment. If you eventually transcend the need for food, water and oxygen, that's extremely liberating. However, if you try to skip ahead and not honor where you are at, then you will be starving, thirsty, and gasping for air. Such is sex.
